I'm here to post about Trinity's Young Leader's Summer School Program that i attended from the 4th December till 17th December ;)
One word, or heck, any words can't describe how it was. 2 weeks, 14 days. A lot of hours, a lot can happen. Of course these things, you start of not knowing anyone, or a lot of people, it gets pretty awkward and scary at first but you always try and work it out. If i were to explain every single thing, there's probably no end to it. Therefore, i'll just specify them.
Mentor Groups
We were separated into our mentor groups the first night we were there. My group's mentor was Maddison. She's the best! Some people don't really like her and find her scary. Well, my group loves her! ♥ We named our group M5 (Magical Marvelous Maddison's Men & Maidens). M5 had 3 Malaysians (Constance, Kean & Me), 4 Australians (Maddison, Linda, James & Howard), 1 Singaporean (Danielle) and 1 Vietnamese (Jack). We won first for Giant Game Night, 2nd for Amazing Race (though we were the first one to complete the race), probably 5th for Trivia Night and not sure what we placed for Karaoke Night. There are 12 groups altogether. We're all competing for the Leadership Cup, which consisted of 60% Leadership Presentation on environmental issues and remaining 40% from Giant Game Night, Karaoke Night, Trivia Night and Amazing Race with 10% from each category. They awarded M5 the Leadership Cup during the Valedictory Dinner. We were all so happy and proud. I still can't believe that we won =) Well yeah, sure, a lot of people said that M5's presentation was awesome, cause we had the court case concept, but seeing as how everyone worked really hard for their presentation while our group didn't really have much to do, i thought some groups would actually beat us. Nonetheless, Alhamdulillah, we're all so proud.

Classes
My elective world was Creative World. I can tell you this, Creative World has the best bunch of people in the whole camp! No joke, hehe, i really love the whole group. It amazes me how different certain people can think and how their minds work. We had our classes together, it was good yeah, well maybe Persuasive World had great classes but ours were pretty cool, plus the people hehe. We bonded, and got to know each other more. Once they held a Giant Game Night where you fight against the mentor groups and also the worlds. Guess which world won? Creative.
A lot of things they taught us made me realise some things as well as opened my eyes. There was this excursion to the ACMI (Australian Centre of the Moving Image). It was really cool but unfortunately i had only 20 minutes to spend there so i could only cover half of it. Melbourne's full of beautifully-designed buildings. We had an excursion and really look at the city in a different way.

Roommate
When i reached Trinity, and to my room, i found out that my roommate was Ilsa. It was quite surprising cause Neesha knows her and apparently she came under KDU which was the same as Sara, Aleeza and Joyce. I didn't know Joyce before that though. Ilsa turns out to be super pretty and nice! And ugh she's so patient i tell you! She's da bomb, aww man i miss Ilsa ;(
When i came out of my room, Sabrina was downstairs with Sara and Aleeza. Turns out that Sabrina and Sara are roommates and Aleeza's room is right across from their room. Neesha got a Korean girl as her roommate. Little did we know that she's the modern Korean. Super pretty, and has really good English! Her name's Elizabeth. I guess Trinity's pretty good at matching us up? It seemed that it was fate of how we got out roommates. Thankfully, everyone got along with each other.
Super tall right haha

Ilsa Ameera, my awesome roommate ;)
Friends
I will always love the Malaysian gang! But haha our friends are from everywhere! Ok so like the Director asked us to be friends with people from 5 different countries by the time we're done. Let's see, i have friends from Singapore, Australia, Vietnam, Sri Lanka, Somali, Indonesia, Penang Malaysia? Heh i guess that counts. Maybe there's more but i can't really remember. Everyone's just so nice and friendly it feels really good! I became friends with those who i did not know at all before the camp, and became closer to those who i've already known.
There was a night when Neesha and i sneaked out and slept over at Sabrina and Sara's dorm. Hahah they were kinda pissed off with us in their room ♥ We were supposed to have a huge sleepover on the last night but don't know what happened to that! Though Neesha slept over in my room. I gained around 100 new friends within 2 weeks! Well, when you go to sleep, wake up, go to classes with everyone, every single day, it's hard not to know, hehe. I noticed how the first week it's the 'being friends' phase, and during the second week merely towards the end, it became the 'crushing' phase. Wonder what'll happen if it went on for a month haha.

Cultural Night
We gathered all the Malaysians together to perform for Cultural Night. It started of with a presentation by Daniel then the 'lah' segment by the Malaysian mentors Jon and Mel. After that was the fashion show by all the Malaysians and we ended it by singing the 1 Malaysia song ;) I'm quite proud cause before that, half of the Malaysians didn't even know the song and well yeah now they do! We had all the main races traditional clothing except for the baju melayu which was such a waste. Though a couple of Singaporeans wore baju melayu.

We all had our great times as well as rough times. However, i wanted YLSS 2011 to end with a good note, and it did ;) I truly miss everyone and it's sad knowing that nothing will ever be the same anymore =( I missed everyone so much after it ended that i started seeing random strangers as people from the camp. It was just sad. Almost everything i do or see reminds me of everything. I had a really really great time. So glad i went for it. Thank you Trinity, thank you everyone.
